The Trail Quest Crew took to the hills
of Kentucky, around the Natural Bridge State Park, for some serious trailriding. The monster Jeeps were numerous, and most of them lined up for the
9-10 difficulty trails. Most of these 4x4's could make you feel like an ant when standing next to them, with their enormous tires and end to end
roll bars. Mud was caked over the bright paint, and most were equipped with everything from thick bumpers and coolers, to chain saws and winches.
Being beginners, we limited ourselves to the 4-6 difficulty trails.
The glass packs roared as everyone started their
engines, awaiting movement to the trailheads. The scenery on Richard's Revenge and The Caves, included in the Kentucky Challenge Trailride
Series, was extraordinary. Throughout the trails, trees towered overhead, as the oversized tires spit mud everywhere. We climbed over rocks, and
crept through creekbeds, and around treturous curves.
Many times I caught myself shouting, "left,
left .... right, right," trying to guide my dad through deep ruts and over boulders. The fun of trailriding cannot be explained ... it must be
experienced. Like I always say, "We all follow the same trail, but we make our own tracks!"
Happy 4-Wheeling!
